FLV/SWF Conversion (Pro Edition)

Video Options

ScreenVirtuoso Pro allows you to convert almost all video/audio formats to FLV/SWF (Flash) files.

It means you can use ScreenVirtuoso as independent FLV/SWF converter!

Conversion dialog consists of few tabs: Video, Audio, Player

Video Tab

Output File Full path to the output FLV/SWF file.

Video Type Use Demo (lossless) for creating demonstrations/tutorials and Movie (lossy) for movies.
Encoder uses distinct video compressors for distinct video types. Each video compressor is intended to compress an appropriate video type. Invalid video type may increaze a video size dramatically!

Output Format Choose an output video format: FLV (new video format), SWF (old video format)

Bitrate The encoding video bit rate in bits per second. Higher values improve a video qality but increase a video size.

Frame Size Frame size at which the video will be encoded, which must be equal or smaller than the original video frame size

Frame Rate Frame rate in frames per second at which the video will be encoded. This value must be lower than the original frame rate of the video.

Audio Tab

Audio Options

Encode Audio Check this option to encode video and audio.

Convert Stereo to Mono Check this option to encode in Mono

Encoding Method The type of audio encoding: MP3 or ADPCM. Use MP3 when possible.

Sample Rate This setting defines the rate at which sound samples will be encoded. Higher values improve an audio quality but enlarge a file size.

Bitrate This setting specifies the number of bits per second - the bit rate of the encoded audio. Higher bit rates will create better audio quality at the expense of encoded file size.

Player Tab

Player Options

Create HTML page Check this option to place video on HTML page.

Loop By default, the player stops playback at the end of video to preserve bandwidth. Check this option to play your video continously.

Auto Play Check this option to start playing automatically when the page loads.

How to Achieve Higher Video Quality

  • Increasing video and audio Bitrate (field Bitrate in the Video and Audio tabs) really improves quality.
  • Lower the video frame size and/or the frame rate (respectively slider Frame Size and Frame Rate in the Video tab) which will lower the amount of actual data compressed, allowing better quality for the same bitrate. In most cases source video quality might be to much for web Flash video: for example lowering the frame rate from 30 FPS to 20 or the frame image to 75% original size will produce better video quality at the same bitrate without significant quality loss.

How to convert more than one video file

Simply drag a new video file and drop it onto the Convert Dialog.

Notice

Almost all common video and audio formats are accepted: Windows Media (AVI, WMV, ASF, WMA, WAV, using any AVI/WM codecs like DIVX, XDIV, etc.); QuickTime (MOV, QT, DV, AAC, AIF/AIFF, using any QuickTime codecs); MPEG (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MP3); Mobile phone formats (3GP, 3G2).

It means you can use ScreenVirtuoso as independent audio/video FLV/SWF converter!
