Audio

Record Sound Check this option to record sound. See the Performance page to learn how sound may affect the performance of recording.
   
Size, Channels and Samples Per Second Higher values for Bits Per Sample, Samples Per Second, and Number of Channels will result in better recording quality, but enlarge the file size as well.

Volume Drag a slider to set a recording volume.
   
Device Choose an audio device from the drop down combo box.
Note: Multiple audio devices can be connected to your system. For example, audio card and web camera audio device.
   
Input Each audio device may have multiple audio inputs. For example, Microphone, Mixer, Line In etc.
Choose an audio input from the drop down combo box.
Note: To record sound coming from other applications you need to choose a Mixer.
   
Codec Choose an audio compressor (codec) from the drop down combo box.
Advice: Use PCM (uncompressed) option when possible.
Some audio compressors modify audio length that results in worse synchronization.
